Is it always as it seems?

Last Sunday we took a spin out to Dun Laoghaire, it was the last day of the Christmas Holidays and we hadn’t been out that way in ages. The children were wrecked after the late nights over Christmas and getting colds, so a little stroll was all we had in mind.
This post was just going to be that bit of text and a few photos below, showing the nice time we had. Well that would be bending the truth a bit :-) , note there are no photos showing us at the end of the pier, eating cones from Teddys, enjoying the amusements, a happy family photo! Nope none of that, instead we had arguments, giving out, grumpy faces … myself & Colin wondering how come we were the only family who can’t have a nice family day out! as we looked at all the “happy” families enjoying their day out.
So back to the car we went without enjoying the view at the end of the pier, a cone, a ride on the amusements etc, thinking we were the only ones that have to deal with this.

Why do I mention this? Well these days we all follow so many blogs and wish we had this perfect world that stares back at us from the screen…but hey it is not always as it seems! We tend to blog the photos that show the good times, like I was going to do with this set of photos but I thought instead I would share the rest of the story!
Nobody has it perfect the whole time talk to other parents that have children of a similar age, you will be surprised to learn they are going through it too … of course some won’t admit it so make sure you talk to the ones that will :-)

Was our day out worth it … absolutely, we even talked about returning another day to do all the things we didn’t get to do! and we have a few new photos of the kids to enjoy, the bad memories of that day will fade, looking back in years we will just see their cute faces enjoying a day out.
